How to Care for Your Vinyl

Even if you don’t have a lot of spare time to devote to the care of your new luxury vinyl floors, there are some quick and easy tasks that will do wonders to protect the look and longevity of your vinyl flooring.

Some good preventative maintenance will go a long way to keep your new Vinyl floor looking as good as new for years to come! Please be sure to reference your floor’s warranty for specific care requirements. Sweep your floor as needed to remove dirt and grit and damp mop occasionally using a special hard surface cleaner available at our Oviedo, FL showroom. Avoid the use of detergents or soap-based products which can dim your floor’s shine.

Most vinyl floors have finishes that do not require any additional buffing, shining, or waxing. Doing any of these actions might harm your floor’s finish.

Vinyl Preventative Maintenance

Preventative maintenance can mean a variety of measures you take to prevent damage before it happens. Removing shoes before walking across your new vinyl floor helps prevent tracking in dirt, while doormats will help trap dirt in advance.

Dealing Spills & Stains

Vinyl is pretty simple to clean when it comes to dealing with messy spills. In most cases, all you need to do is mop up any spills or use a cloth. Do so promptly and dry afterwards, as vinyl floors can be slippery when wet.

If your floors are sticky, you can follow up with a manufacturer-approved floor cleaner, available at our Oviedo flooring showroom.

If you encounter more difficult messes such as nail polish, oil, wax, or market, check with your manufacturer's guidelines for approved stain removal tips.
